Photographic collection: Generator House prior to demolition. Built to house d. c. generators when plant was intended as an aluminium smelter in WW11 period. The generator plant was lost at sea due to enemy action and plant became solely a rolling mill facility. This building remained empty apart from a wooden case making shop and also housed two large Marshall boilers (oil fired) which supplied the works heating system.
