Scope and Content

Letter (5 Apr 1884) from Briton Rivière to Morland Agnew thanking him for a cheque. Rivière describes the difficulties of not having enough time to work properly on his paintings and that he has been suffering from a severe cold. He wishes that if "the public could only be satisfied to see the pictures in the Academy instead of the artist's studio" he would be saved much stress and fatigue.
