Scope and Content

Letter (Nov 11 [c 1929]) from Colin Agnew to Tim Agnew, written from 125 East 57th Street, New York, stating that he fears "we're in for a very "thin" season here" but hopes it will be only a temporary situation. He discusses the economic situation in America and its effect on potential sales. He suggests the opportunity, whilst dealers "except possibly Colnaghi and Roehler" are nervous, is taken to make low offers for the purchase of works by Veronese and Tintoretto and asks if Tim Agnew has secured two works by Cotes.
