Scope and Content

The shop occupied by Thomas Lewis & Co., Grocers, City Steam Mills, on the corner site of the junction of Dean Street and High Street. Note Thomas Lewis's large warehouse at lower end of Dean Street. The Ship building, 315 High Street, and the house next door on the upper side (313) were demolished to widen the entrance into Dean Street.
