Contains: papers on fleet regattas and sailing competitions; an itinerary for the summer 1908 cruise; reports by Keyes on towing battle practice target by HMS Venus including memoranda by Vice-Adm. Louis Battenberg; a programme for the farewell concert marking HMS Venus’ departure from Gibraltar in 1909; a report by Keyes on a night exercise carried out by HMS Venus and Doris; a message to the Royal Navy from King George V; papers on fleet manoeuvres off Islay in July 1910 including signals, details of rendezvous, orders for individual ships, HMS Venus’ diary of events and account of engagements by Keyes, reports on the manoeuvres, and memoranda by Keyes, Capt. Godfrey Paine, Adm. Edmund Poë and Vice-Adm. Battenberg; and issue 1 of The Venus Charivari magazine by and for the ship’s company.
