Keyes Papers. Vol. lxxxv. Submarine defences; 1913-1914, n.d. Contains reports on anti-submarine devices by Keyes, Adm. Callaghan, and Capt. Waistell. Includes reports on the use of destroyers to screen ships from submarines, and a translation of a French report into avoiding detection by limited use of the periscope. Also includes a memorandum on mining prepared for the Cabinet by Winston Churchill, an extract from a French report of submarine obstacles in Cattaro harbour, and notification of the appointment of Keyes to a committee to investigate the capabilities of British and German submarines to attack defended harbours, with Terms of Reference.
