Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Valentine Oppé (née Tollemarche) (1887-1951) was Oppé's wife. They met in 1908 and married in 1909. They had two children together, Armide (b. 1910) and Denys (b. 1913).
As husband and wife, they enjoyed mutual interests in art and travel, although later in their relationship they appeared to pursue these independantly. Valentine was also very interested in music, dance and folk culture, and had a close friendship with Cecil Sharp.
