Scope and Content

This file contains Oppé's research on the writings of Alexander Cozens, including:

-transcriptions of letters to William Hoare

-research notes on 'Sundry studies of landscape composition' [c 1732-1786], held at the British Museum

-research notes and transcribed extracts of 'Principles of beauty relative to the human head' (1778) and 'The various species of composition of landscape in nature' [unpublished, composed c 1770-1775]

-transcription of 'Method of tilting landscape' [undated]
