This file contains material relating to Oppé's employment at the Board of Education, in particular his secondment to the Victoria & Albert Museum where he acted as director between 1910-1913. Included are circulars, minutes and reports and various letters and drafts concerning the terms of his employment during his transition from temporary director at the V&A back to the Board of Education.
There are also some letters and notes which relate to Oppé travelling through Spain in 1911. This trip appears to have been, at least in part, connected to his role at the V&A.
There is also a draft letter written by Oppé, dated 20 December 1918, in which he is refusing an OBE for his services at the Board of Education.
