Scope and Content

Lease - 16 January 1899

(i) The Rt. Hon. Mary Elizabeth Dowager Lady Vivian.

(ii) The Hon. Claud Hamilton Vivian of Plas Gwyn, co. Anglesey.

(iii) The Holywell-Halkyn Mining and Tunnel Company Limited.

All mines, veins, beds, seams, strata, and deposits of coal lead, lead ore, blende and other ores of zinc stone and other minerals, under messuages and lands in Holywell, co. Flint.

Plan annexed.

Term: 24 years.

Rent: £10 for the first 3 years and £20 thereafter.

Consideration: royalties of 4d per ton of coal, and 1/20 the value of lead, and covenants.

Surrender - 31 December 1914

(i) Holywell-Halkyn Mining and Tunnel Company Limited.

(ii) Anthony Hamilton Vivian of Plas Gwyn, Pentraeth, co. Anglesey, a Captain (retired) in His Majesty's Army.

Surrender of above properties.

Consideration: 10/-.
