Administrative / Biographical History

The Welsh National War Memorial is situated in Alexandra Gardens, Cathays Park, Cardiff and was originally erected to commemorate Welsh servicemen who died during the First World War. The Western Mail created a national subscription fund and a committee was set up to manage the scheme. It was designed by Sir Ninian Comper and established in 1928.
