Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Swansea Prison was opened in 1861 and is now HMP Swansea. Brecon Prison closed in November 1915 while Carmarthen Prison closed in March 1922. Both Swansea and Carmarthen had male and female prisoners.
Arranged into the following: Swansea Prison; Brecon Prison; Carmarthen Prison.
