Military Papers

Scope and Content

Military papers relate to precautions against a French invasion, as follows:

  • BAG/6/4/1-13: Papers respecting signals stations, coastal and inland, 1804-5, 13 items;
  • BAG/6/4/14-29: Reports and returns respecting the Royal West Middlesex Militia, the Lincolnshire Yeomanry and Volunteers, and troops in the inland districts, 1804-14, 16 items;
  • BAG/6/4/30-44: Miscellaneous memoranda and papers, including three items concerning action to be taken in case of an invasion of Ireland, 1809-14, 15 items.
