EXAMINATION of Edward Lloyd of Amlwch taken at the hearing of Jane Owen charged with stealing thirty two half crowns of the value of four pounds belonging to Rowland Thomas Rowland. He saith that on the morning of 16th July last about 10 o'clock he went to Jane Owen's house and drank some porter [Porter is a dark style of beer originating in London in the 18th Century] which he paid for. Her house is unlicensed. He continued to drink at his own expense until 12 but after he was supplied by Jane Owen. At 3 o'clock he saw Jane Owen count 8/- at the table. She said this is Rowland's money which I will keep until tomorrow to pay for a pair of shoes for him. Rowland came about 4 o'clock intoxicated and she asked Owen Christopher and another to take him down to Llaithdy a tavern. That evening the deponent saw Rowland making a noise and throwing stones at the door of Jane Owen's house crying out about his money.
