Scope and Content

Written from Birmingham. First part is statement of money disbursed and received. Gives his opinion of effects of Pontefract election that it damaged Childers very materially. Asks if he had seen the letter in the 'Times' of the 17th attributing the falling off of vote for Childers to our action. Feels fortified for work after three days with Mr and Mrs Bright and a day with Mrs Butler. Mr Stuart's counsel very valuable.
