Miss M Austen Leigh to Josephine Butler

Scope and Content

Written to Butler at 2 Norfolk Crescent, Hyde Park W.

Reminds her of a meeting and some conversation they had at Lausanne in the Spring of 1897. She and a friend, a highly experienced rescue worker, are both deeply interested in the question of the CD Acts and have drawn up a few paragraphs on the subject (enclosed) they would both be grateful if she would tell them the reason for her separating herself from Lady Henry Somerset.
