Written from Liverpool. To say he was willing to go to London to represent the Association's views about Mrs Percy's treatment. Her daughter now is with them. If he is not wanted to speak he had rather stay at home. He then answers a series of questions asked by Mr Wilson.

This was one of the regional Repeal Societies which were set up to promote regional interest in the work. Its official title was the Northern Counties League; it was set up August 1872 and HJ Wilson was appointed Hon Sec; Edward Backhouse, Chairman and Joseph Edmondson Treasurer. Rev George Butler was a member of the Executive Committee
