To say that she is overwhelmed with the generosity of her friends of the past and present generations who had subscribed for a gift for her. She feels deeply unworthy of such honour, as all through she has depended on all those who had so long and so devotedly worked with her. She asks Mrs F. for advice on how she can best acknowledge this wonderful kindness. Switzerland sent £148 collected from all the Cantons. Speaks of the severe influenza, which has been very general there - her theory of how the infection is generated and then brought to them by the north-east winds.
