Scope and Content

Written from 27 Via XX Settembre, Rome.

She is also suspicious of the principles and motives of those who are organising the Congress, but it seems to her very important 'for us to appear on the field so as not to seem afraid of discussion'. Hopes he might be able to go in his private capacity. She is better but not yet able to walk. She hopes to see Cardinal Rampella again soon and that then he will finally agree 'to use his influence with the Pope to express his approbation [see letter of 14 Dec 1895 JB to friends about Dr M's visit to the Pope] this would be of great use to us in France and in Belgium.
