Written from Balham. Dated 1 May, no year, but reference to London conference which occurred in 1894.

'The heavy news met me on landing at Dover of a very severe accident my dear George (son) had met with'.

He had lain unconscious for several days. (See letter dated 18 Jan 1906 Josephine Butler to Miss Forsaith for full details of accident)

'I have asked Mr McLaren to call a Federation Committee on Friday to consider my full statement about our International Meeting in London'. This was the International Federation Conference held in London on 12-13 Jul (See letter of 20 Apr 1894). She is calling a Federation Committee to consider the International Committee in London in Jul more important than ever and that it should be a good meeting.

A difference of opinion had arisen in the Ladies' National Association Committee regarding whether Miss Willard should have a farewell party.
