'The allusion to St James' Hall meeting should be omitted'
A meeting was held in St James's Hall on Wednesday night 3 Mar 1875, under the auspices of the National Association in support of Sir Harcourt Johnstone's Bill for the total repeal of the CD Acts. Sir Harcourt Johnstone presided and gave the opening speech. Other speakers were Mr Stevenson, A Blackwood, James Stansfeld (The 'Shield' 15 Mar 1875 p 66)
