She suggests sending out a copy of Mr Stansfeld's speech with every appeal letter; she has had 20,000 printed. In making a direct religious appeal they have to remember that not all the people who receive the appeal reverence the things they do; she would therefore like the suggested appeal to be worded a little differently

'in each packet I would enclose ... a copy of Mr Stansfeld's speech'
This was a speech made by Mr Stansfeld at a public meeting held under the auspices of the LNA at Bristol on 15 Oct 1874. This was his first public appearance as a champion of the Cause. It was memorable for two reasons: 'it was the first time that an ex-minister of the Crown, and distinguished, and recognised leader of one of the great political parties, had appeared upon our platform. Secondly it meant the end of Mr Stansfeld's political career; he remained an MP but was never given an office of any importance after his public support of the Repeal movement' See also a note on 'a repeal meeting' in letter from JB to the Miss Priestmans 20 Aug [1874]
