Written from Winchester (dictated). Since her last letter to him (of 8 Oct) she has read carefully every word of the printed correspondence with the Colonies, and has sent everything on to M Humbert. 'He seems able to elicit information and opinions from English Colonists and Officers who would be on their guard against writing anything to England and especially to me. I have some extraordinarily interesting information in this question from Egypt; it seems the Khedive takes our view of the matter.
