This refers to the incident given in the 'Shield' under the title 'The Rangoon Outrage' ('Shield', Nov 1899, p 69)

It concerned the outraging of an elderly native woman by a dozen or so English soldiers.

The article written by JB appeared in the Storm Bell of Jul 1899, pp 202-6.

An account of the incident first appeared in England in the 'Star' of 31 May and in the 'Morning Leader' of Jun

The 'Times' published a telegram on the subject from its correspondent at Allahabad under the date of 4 Jun
