She is starting North next week, very anxious to get home. Tells her of the correspondence going on in the Westminster Gazette for about a fortnight about the immortality of beasts [see also letter of Jan 2 1900]. Is very glad that both she and Bob study and love Natural History.

'am starting North next week' In a later letter written to Stanley on 28 Nov 1905, she says: 'the very last time I was in Switzerland when I parted from you dear one at Grindelwald'

JB therefore left her sister's (Hatty's) home, La Gordanne the beginning of Sep and met her family at Grindelwald and then went on to visit friends at Lausanne and other places in Switzerland. She reached England late in Sep to be greeted on landing by a telegram announcing her sister's death
