Scope and Content

Written from La Gordanne, Perroy, Vaud, Switzerland (her sister, Hatty's, home)

States that she is not at all satisfied with the sketch of the 'Declaration' she has written, and would like it send to Miss Forsaith or Mr Stuart can make constructive criticisms. She would be glad if someone else would draw up the Declaration, only let there be no sentimentality in it and no note of discouragement. See letter dated 31 Oct 1896 to Miss Forsaith marked Private.

'I have not a word from Westminster about the last Committee'. Refers to the Committee set up to arrange details of the Conference to be held in Birmingham on 13 Nov. For Note on the Conference at Birmingham see letter dated 15 Oct 1896.
