Scope and Content

Photocopy of letter. Written from Bank Sands, Park Ferry, Birkenhead. Written in French. Thanks her in Mrs Butler's name for her letter so full of good news of the cause they have so much at heart. The writer is a member of the International Association of Women and Secretary of Mme Butler for it is essential for her to have some rest as she has taken on a gigantic cause...namely a crusade against prostitution. This involves much travelling, holding of public meetings etc. and before the end of this month the chance of a parliamentary crisis (over the CD Acts), which Mme T. will be able to read about in the newspapers. Mme B. will continue to send her everything she can find new on the education of women. Mme B. would be grateful if she could tell her whether in Russia as in France, prostitution is tolerated, even protected. In England they would like the agitation that started there to spread to other countries.
