Scope and Content

Carbon copy of letter. Written from London. Has spent last evening and most of today at Aldershot; will talk over legal remedy for Miss Percy [see case of Mrs Percy] with Mr Shaen and Mr Eve, the solicitor. He says 'The power of the Metropolitan police and military authority together is unlimited, arbitrary and despotic in the extreme'. Their practice is to hand every girl they can get hold of into the Hospital for 14 days as the first step. He encloses points not mentioned in Newspaper reports of 'Suicide at Aldershot Mar 1875'.
