James Stuart to Henry J Wilson

Scope and Content

Written from Carrow Abbey, Norwich.

Answers various queries and corrects some statements made by Henry J Wilson Thus JB is Hon. Sec. of the Federation as well as Presidente d'honneur and has been so elected every year since its foundation in 1875; that she has not had any allowance for some time for expenses from either the Federation or the British Committee. During her illness she was laid aside and her correspondence was slight, but recently she seems to be corresponding with all quarters in all directions in a marvellous way considering her weak physical state. Any expense she has incurred should be refunded. He therefore sent her £18 last Saturday. But her foreign friends write to her as JB and not as Sec. or representing any Committee. She has never received any money except through the British Committee.
