Two copies. Written from Balgonie, Fifeshire. Enclosing a verbatim report of Mrs Butler speaking about the question of punishing fornication by law. To be sent on to Mr Edmundson. She has read both their letters and thinks that to punish fornication by civil law is a very grave error; she thinks that neither have read much of the History; she quotes the severe laws of the puritans in America which simply broke down.
