'I hope Mr Stuart will get into Parliament for our Cause' James Stuart was defeated in the elections of 1900 and 1910, but in 1906 he was re-elected MP for Sunderland and remained their member till 1910. He was therefore under Campbell-Bannerman's government formed Dec 1905 and HH Asquith's formed Apr 1908
