Rain at last after 21 days; done 2 small sketches; Dr Agnes McLaren and old friend frequently calls; meet pleasant people at the table d'hôtel; WH Smith and party have taken their departure with mountains of luggage; health improving but still yellow; asks him to write to Marshall Tweddale about chaplaincy at Grindelwald. Eiger was the St Bernard dog left behind with the Butlers by Emil Boss when he arrived at Winchester to stay with them at St Bernards (see letter of 27 Feb 1885). 'WH Smith and party'. (see letter of 1 Feb with notes). 'A chaplaincy at Grindelwald'. This concerns The Anglican church hall at Grindelwald owing to the advocacy and work of the Canon.
