Written from Liverpool. Reported that he had met Mr Stansfeld by appointment [see letter of 20 May from Mr B to Mr W]. [Stansfeld] strongly advised that the Working Men's League should be encouraged and Burgess trusts that Mr Wilson will come to countenancing it.

There had been correspondence on this subject between HJ Wilson and JB (22 Apr 1875) and Burgess and HJW (20 May 1875). JB was pleased with their independence and called it 'a spontaneous movement'
