Scope and Content

Photocopy of incomplete letter. Written from [c/o Mrs Terrell, 35 Argyle Road, West Ealing]. Tuesday No date but refers to 'The day of the dear Queen's funeral' i.e. Sat 2 Feb

She tries to dissuade her from coming up to London on the day of the Queen's funeral [Saturday 2 Feb] bringing little Josephine to see the doctor. If she does come she must on no account try to see her (JB). She has been upset lately by one or two happenings: one when she discovered that a wretched housemaid had been taking her manuscript about Aunt Hatty and some of Aunt Hatty's letters and lighting the fires with them. She may have to go north to Ewart shortly as poor Mia (George's wife) is so ill that the doctor is doubtful whether she will get through her confinement.
