Suggests Monday 3 Jul for their annual meeting (LNA) They may get some of the 'Women Workers' Conference people [This was the National council of Women who held an International Quinquennial Conference in London Jun and Jul 1899. At a session held on 30 Jun Mrs Wilson read a paper as a substitute for JB] Some of the German ladies have written to her that they are attending the 'Women Workers' and hope to bring friends to be 'confirmed in the faith' about Abolition.

'The three long days of the Vigilance meetings'

JB was referring to the White Slave Trade Congress of 21-31 Jun, which was organised by the Vigilance Societies. Mr Coote was Organising Secretary of the National Vigilance Society founded in 1871.

Other Vigilance and Rescue Societies were:

Gospel Purity Association, Moral Reform Union, National League of Women, Social Purity Alliance, etc., all founded in the 1880s.
