Biog: * Herr Georg de Bunsen (1824-1896); was son of Baron Christian Karl Josias Bunsen, Prussian Minister in London in the 1850s, who had helped the Rev George in his endeavours to arouse interest in Oxford in extra curricula studies in arts and science. See letter of Rev George to Baron Bunsen's son of 21 Jan 1877 '... And I always remember with gratitude the assistance given me by your father ... on the occasion of my commencing a course of lectures on Physical Geography at Oxford.' Also in a letter of 11 Dec 1852 Baron Bunsen thanks him 'for the gift of his very interesting and pleasing 'lectures on the Principles of Imitative Art''. Baron Christian Karl Josias Bunsen (1791-1860).
