Josephine Butler to Miss Forsaith

Scope and Content

Photocopy of letter. Written from [Cheltenham]

She is expecting Amelie Humbert (from Neuchatel) on 7 or 8 Apr. She thinks their cause may very likely be one of those 'most fiercely fought over at the 'darkest hour before the Dawn', and nothing but spiritual power will avail for that time. Mr Allan (one of the seers) thinks this. 'About the little book [The morning cometh] which is shortly coming out she thinks the 'Higher Critics will scorn because it holds to the whole Bible as a Revelation from God'.

Administrative / Biographical History
