Frederick Clark to Henry J Wilson

Scope and Content

Written from 5 Summerhill Grove, Newcastle-on-Tyne. He has arranged distribution of leaflets [see letter of 3 Jun 1872] by another correspondent. About Doncaster his sister writes that the subject does not claim much attention there. At Newcastle Dr Hooppell was 'the life of the movement'. All towns ought to be visited before an election as so many people have never had their attention directed to it. Members of the higher and middle class tend to denigrate Mrs Butler and imply that she little knows what she meddles with'. Discussion as to what town (in the North) would be best for a Conference.
