Copy letter. Written from Pitsmoor. 'To hold another business conference ... on 26 Oct 1875 at the Westminster Palace Hotel.' At the conference several alterations and additions to the Manifesto were brought before them; and also ways in which other speakers are to be secured for their Platforms as there is the greatest reluctance on the parts of MPs and others to help their meetings. If they have any suggestions please send them to Mr Banks. Details of meetings and speakers given about the Sheffield meeting for 16 Nov.
Notes: The first business conference was held on 29 Jul 1875. This meeting was to consider the Manifesto to which several alterations and additions had been made; and secondly to consider ways and means of getting more speakers for their meetings. The Manifesto was drawn up by Mr Edmondson and submitted for approval to the Executive of the NC League by HJ Wilson (see letter of 22 Sep 1875).
