'In Chatham where the law has been in force since 1866'- 29 Jul 1864 - The first CD Act received Royal Assent for 3 yrs applying to Portsmouth, Plymouth, Woolwich, Chatham, Sheerness, Aldershot, Colchester, Shorncliffe, The Curragh, Cork and Queenstown.
The Contagious Diseases Prevention Act 1864 (An Act for the prevention of contagious diseases at certain naval and military stations)
11 Jun 1866 - CD Act received Royal Assent to come into operation Sep 30 when Act of 1864 expired. Extended area to Windsor
11 Aug 1869 - CD Act received Royal Assent (the last Regulation Act adding Canterbury, Dover, Gravesend, Maidstone, Winchester and Southampton making 18 stations in all). (See Rough Record no 8, 15, 35)
