Administrative / Biographical History

Felix Pyat was a Communist involved in all the revolutionary movement on the Continent during the 19th century. He played a leading part under the Commune, which took over the government of Paris 1870-1871 when besieged by the Prussians. After the surrender he escaped to London; was condemned to death, in absence, in 1873, and pardoned in 1880
