Scope and Content

Photocopy of a letter. Written from [Wooler, Northumberland].

About Mrs Tanner's funeral (died 17 Mar 1905). JB makes suggestions as to what should be put in the 'Shield': first a description of the funeral from Maurice Gregory's and Mary Priestman's letters then all 'my letters'. Then in another 'Shield' may be put the facts of her life.

'a letter from Mary Priestman about the funeral'

This refers to the funeral of Mrs Margaret Tanner, a sister of Mary Priestman, who died 17 Mar 1905 and was Treasurer to the LNA from its inception in 1870 to within a few years of her death. JB suggests what should be written in the 'Shield' about the funeral, and she will send a letter paying tribute to Mrs Tanner's work for the Cause. [This appeared in the 'Shield' of Apr 1905 p 25]
