John Findlater to [Henry J Wilson]

Scope and Content

Written from Rawal Pindi.

To say that he had written to the Assistant GMG about the women kept at Bara Gali and asked him to have the place abolished as being contrary to the Regulations. But at the same time he heard from some of the men there that the place had been abolished. On Saturday last, he had visited Bara Gali and on going to the hospital fount it full of VD Cases contracted in that place. So much for 'protected vice'. At other stations where the colonel has exercised his personal influence on the men for moral ends VD has been steadily declining.
