Written from Castle Lodge, Kendal. Not to trouble sending paper about Mr Taylor as the meeting is cancelled (see his letter of Dec to Henry Wilson). Refers to the Mrs Elmy affair: he agrees with Mr Backhouse's pithy commentary that he encloses. 'It is a trying affair'. He dreads the 'down with every institution' element 'so rife in the present day'.
Notes: Re. Meeting see letter I Whitwell Wilson to HJ Wilson, 2 Dec 1875.
