Photocopy of letter. Written from Galewood, Northumberland

She is sending a parcel of books etc belonging to him, also a photograph of his godfather, Arthur Stanley. She and her father knew him well when they lived in Oxford: 'A learned and able man but so simple'.

'I hope to get to Cornhill on the 17th and 18th of this month'

Cornhill on Tweed, a village in Northumberland, beloved by Rev George for its good fishing. (See letter of 4 May 1882 from Rev George to Josephine Butler)

'At Copenhagen father and Thomasson [Danish sculptor] and Uncle Tell spent a good deal of time in The Great Thorwaldsen Gallery'.

'I have sent a few of my out of doors memories of him (Mr Thomasson) about his excursions with us at The Hague and Copenhagen Conferences'.
