Scope and Content

Photocopy of letter. Written from 10 Gilmore Road, Lewisham.

Depressed by the weather and has an intense longing for sunshine and fresh air. She encloses a letter from Stuart which has given her much pleasure; away from work he has time to reveal his heart 'always there, true and kind'. She is trying to relieve him (with Miss Forsaith's help) of his financial correspondence while he is away. Refers to the impressive ceremonies attending the funeral of Gladstone and the homage paid him. She thought 'his greatness rested on the strong foundation of his goodness'.
