Written from Liverpool. Dated: Tuesday. Details of preparations for the 1st International Conference of the Federation which was held in London on 18-19 May and mentions some of the expected people including several eminent foreigners.

The letter is about organising a big meeting, which must be the 1st International Conference of the Federation held in London 18-19 May 1876. (See Note of 27 Apr 1876 - 'The date of our meetings is fixed' 'My boys were all at the London meeting on Friday'. For Note on this meeting 'Meeting of Congregational Committee at Memorial Hall 11 May' See letter of Josephine Butler to her husband dated 11 May 1886. [There is a discrepancy in the day mentioned, this account giving Friday and official date being Thursday 11th].
