To inform him that at a meeting of the Committee of that Association the suggestion to form a Parliamentary Committee representative of the various Repeal Societies was very favourably received and the proposal approved for the Midland Counties Union to call a conference to consider the subject.

'The suggestion to form a Parliamentary Committee representative, of the various Repeal Societies was very favourably received.' This suggestion and the proposal that the Midland Counties Union should call a Conference was circulated and approved by the various Repeal Societies resulting in the Conference held at Birmingham 7 Nov 1882 at which the above suggestion was passed.
