She wishes the publication of her book 'In Memoriam HJ Meuricoffre' would hurry with its publication; she must give them a copy. Encloses a nice letter from Maud Garston.

Queen Victoria died on the evening of Tuesday 22 Jan 1901

'In Memoriam HJ Meuricoffre' This was a labour of love undertaken by JB directly after her sister's death in Oct 1900. It consisted of a collection of her letters and was published in 1901

'Maud Garston. She and Edgar are so affectionate to me as are Thekla and her brothers' Edgar was a nephew of JB, the only son of JB's elder sister Mary Ann (known in the family as Aunt Tully) and Edgar Garston. Edgar (junior) married Maud Carter and had one daughter Gwendolen. Edgar and Maud kept up a correspondence with JB till her death. Thekla was the only surviving daughter of Harriet Meuricoffre, JBs favourite sister, married to Chevalier Tell Meuricoffre. There were 4 sons, one Conrad, d 1892
