Enclosing JB's letter to her. She told JB she was sending the letter to Mrs Fawcett and would ask Mrs F to let her share the expense of the photographing. After that she heard no more from JB At the time of the reproduction s JB had greatly approved the drawing, said she liked it better than any other 'including Watts'. She might have been hurt by this letter had she not thought that JB when she wrote the letter was 'very seedy'. She insists on paying back half the expense to Mrs F.

'... at the time of that reproduction [of the drawing of JB made by Emily Ford] she (JB herself) had greatly approved the drawing and had said she liked it better than any other drawing that had been done (including Watts). In a letter dated 2 Mar 1903, JB to Stanley (son), she describes how Emily Ford has done a drawing of her in chalk 'I cannot say it is much better than what Watts did'.
